SELECTION AND MEMBERSHIP
Students who meet the following requirements will be invited to fill out a digital candidate questionnaire in August:
Are sophomores, juniors, or seniors
Have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher
Have 1 or no detentions or suspensions within the previous academic school year
Consistently behave with integrity and respect
Once a candidate has returned the questionnaire by the deadline stated, their responses will be reviewed by a 5-member Faculty Advisory Board. The FAB uses a rubric to guide their decision. Typically, students who earn around 40/50 points on the rubric are invited to become full members. However, each candidate is thoroughly considered on an individual basis.
To become full members of the RTHS NHS chapter, candidates must participate in a public Induction Ceremony, which will occur on September 21 this year. All candidates that are selected by the Faculty Advisory Board will be notified by e-mail.
Read the RTHS NHS Chapter bylaws to find out everything that is expected of members.
All members must meet the following to maintain an active status:
Complete of 60 hours of community service from inductions to the month of inductions in the following year (ie. August 2017- August 2018)
Attend all club meetings
Maintain a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher
Continue to behave with integrity and respect, maintaining a clean disciplinary record
